About the company
Yemeni Oil Refining Company is one of the strategic pillars of the energy sector in the Republic of Yemen and a key national economic entity affiliated with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals. Established in 1996 under Republican Decree No. (46) as a subsidiary of Yemen General Corporation for Oil and Gas, the company was founded with the purpose of refining crude oil and supplying high-quality petroleum products to meet local market demand in accordance with international standards. Since its inception, the company has played a vital role in building the technical foundation for operating industrial refining facilities and contributing to the formulation of national policies for refining and petrochemical industries.
In December 1998, the company assumed management and operation of the Marib Refinery from Hunt Oil Company of Yemen. Since then, it has embarked on a comprehensive development phase that includes increasing production efficiency and expanding operational capacity. Today, the refinery produces a wide range of petroleum derivatives such as gasoline, diesel, and mazut. One of the company's most notable achievements is the successful transition to a 100% Yemeni workforce.

Company Tasks and Responsibilities
The main tasks and responsibilities of Yemen Oil Refining Company
- Manage and operate the Marib Refinery in place of Hunt Yemen Company since 1998.
- Establish frameworks and programs to enhance its production capabilities.
- Modernize and expand existing refining units and build new ones as needed.
- Supervise and monitor the refining of petroleum products.
- Develop employee skills in various technical and administrative fields.
- Implementing industrial safety and security rules and regulations for refining units.
- Conduct economic and technical studies for investment projects in the refining and petrochemical industries, promote investment, and oversee those projects.
- Participate in refining and petrochemical investment projects as a government partner within private sector investments.
- Handle any other duties as required in accordance with the bylaws, regulations, and applicable laws.
